DevOps Engineer – AWS
A DevOps Engineer is required to join a global consultancy providing top quality Data solutions to the Government sector.
In this exciting DevOps Engineer position, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that data initiatives align with business objectives and requirements, supporting strategy alignment and ensuring a holistic approach is taken.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who comes from an AWS background looking to step into the world of government sector. You will get to join a supportive, collaborative team where you will have the trust and autonomy to deliver and realise benefits for the business.
This is a hybrid role where you can expect to be in London once a week, you will also be required to go through BPSS clearance.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implementation: Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using AWS services like CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy to ensure efficient and reliable application deployment.
- Monitoring and Logging: Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and other third-party tools to ensure system health, performance, and security.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with industry standards using AWS security services like IAM, AWS Shield, and AWS Key Management Service (KMS).
- Collaboration and Automation: Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to automate workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure smooth and reliable application delivery, leveraging tools like AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, and Docker for container orchestration
To be considered you will bring broad experience in a DevOps Engineer role with a focus on AWS and Terraform. You will work at pace to enable delivery of the data initiatives, starting with the development and implementation of a Data Governance framework.
Other experience required:
- Proficiency in AWS Services: Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Experience with CI/CD Tools: Strong experience in configuring and managing CI/CD tools and pipelines, including AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Terraform Expertise: Proficiency in using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
- Strong Scripting and Automation Skills: Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to streamline operations and automate tasks.
